Telecommunications giant, Etisalat Nigeria has unveiled their first set of ambassadors – rapper Panshak ‘Ice Prince’ Zamani and Olamide Adedeji have signed endorsement deals with the telecommunications company.
We learnt that the deals have been under the works for a long while with the telecoms company being sceptical about going down the ‘endorsement craze’ path which have been threaded by rival companies MTN Nigeria and Globacom.
Both deals are worth around N20m each.
The rappers let the cat out of the bag as they tweeted at each other ‘The swaggg ETISALAT get bwuoy no be here!!! Ask @olamide_YBNL !!!!’, with Olamide replying ‘#EtisalatFrosh my nigga’
A rep for Ice Prince has confirmed the deal; ‘Yes it’s true, we’ve been on it for a while but it finally came through’
It has earlier been reported that Ice Prince had turned down an offer made by Globacom, demanding for $1m instead. The deal never pulled through.
Olamide’s manager Alex Okeke could not be reached as at the time of this report.
We are told the deals which cover only Nigeria will last for a year and after then would be renewed if the company deems it fit.
Earlier reports has also suggested that koko master D’banj is also linked to a deal with the telecomm giant Etisalat with his manager Tony Nwakolor hinting on an announcement to be made in due time. We also learnt that 2face Idibia might just be next in line for an endorsement deal with the telecomms company.
